Implementation of a simple additive weighting method to choose a thermal insulation material for buildings

Abstract

Using insulation materials is a solution to reduce energy consumption in buildings and structures. Insulation materials are chosen on the basis of economic and technical criteria, such as the energy-saving effect, construction conditions, climatic conditions, durability, price, etc. At present, there are many different methods related to multi-criterial decisio-making; one of them is the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. This paper explains how to apply SAW to solve sequence problems in choosing an insulation material.
